Piperton’s Board of Mayor and Commissioners adopted an amendment to the 2018 International Residential Code (IRC) Building Code at its September 15, 2020 meeting that may provide some relief to the City’s building community with regard to seismic design requirements. Specifically, Ordinance No. 327-20 provides for an alternate determination of the applicable seismic design category through the use of a geotechnical assessment of underlying soil conditions. All City of Piperton adopted building codes are available for use and inspection by the public at Piperton’s administrative office during regular business hours.
