Mission

The mission of the Department of Public Works is to maintain city streets, water and sewer utilities, garbage and recycling collection, and traffic signals. The department also provides accessible, secure, and properly maintained facilities, environmentally responsible drainage management, and effective street maintenance and traffic controls to insure the safety of the citizens and employees of Piperton.

Our vision is to provide community responsive services in a cost efficient manner with a work force that is diverse, committed, motivated, and empowered. We believe the employees of the City of Piperton are our most valuable resource. Each employee's contribution is the key to success.

Emergencies

Public Works has after-hours on-call personnel to handle any type of water or sewer emergency. When problems arise Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, call 901-853-4830, ext. 1. For any type of emergency after hours, please call 901-316-8726.
