Members
Chairman Mark Jenkins
Mr. Jenkins received a BBA degree in Finance/Real Estate in 1981 from Baylor University and has been in the commercial real estate business for more than 30 years, including 21 years in Memphis. He currently holds real estate licenses in Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi and is a principal broker of Cushman & Wakefield – Commercial Advisors Asset Services. He received his CCIM designation in 2003 and served as the Chapter President in 2008. He has also served in numerous leadership roles in the Boy Scouts of America. Currently, he serves as Chairman of the Piperton Industrial Development Board.
Jack Murphy
Mr. Murphy has held various management positions in the areas of Information Technology, Finance, Marketing, and Operations at FedEx Corporation, Northrop Grumman, and European Aeronautic Defense & Space Company. He currently holds a management position at FedEx and he lives in Piperton.
Rich Miller
Mr. Miller is a commercial Real Estate Broker and a sales and marketing professional. He is the owner of an Insurance and Financial Services business serving Tennessee and Mississippi and has been a Piperton resident since 2005.
Doug Forsythe
Biography
Mr. Forsythe grew up in Millington, Tennessee and graduated from Memphis State University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management, Arbitration and Mediation. He served 15 years in the United States Air Force flying numerous aircrafts. He has been with FedEx Express for 40 years currently flying and Instructing on the MD-11. Mr Forsythe also Chairs the Trustee Committee on the Board of Directors for Woodland Presbyterian School. He is married to Tracy and have two grown children. They built their home in Piperton in 2018.
Mike Smith
Biography
Mr. Smith grew up in Memphis graduating from Memphis State University with a Bachelor’s in Marketing Sales. He was President of the family investment firm, Ray-Lee Investment Company, until its closing in 2010. Since then, he has been the General Contractor with A-Z Construction Services. He enjoys public speaking, woodworking, and many outdoor activities such as golf, water sports, and spending time on the family farm. Mr. Smith and his wife of 12 years, Frances, built their home and moved to Piperton in 2015. Between them, they have six grown children and eight grandchildren.
Michelle Bing
Biography
Ms. Bing is a life-long resident of this area – she grew up in Collierville and moved to Fayette County as a teenager. In 2015, she built her home in Piperton. Michelle is a graduate of Rossville Christian Academy and attended the University of Memphis. She has actively served the Piperton community and surrounding areas since 1990 as Vice-President of The Bank of Fayette County. She is a Consumer lender specializing in Residential purchase, construction, and development financing.
Wayne Kirkpatrick
Biography
Mr. Kirkpatrick is a life-long resident of the area. He grew up in Memphis and graduated from Germantown High School. He is a 40+ year IT professional serving in several leadership positions with First Tennessee Bank, Malone and Hyde and have been with Hilton Hotels for over 20 years. He is the Owner of a local Freight Brokerage as well as Trucking Co. specializing in the cotton industry. Mr. Kirkpatrick has lived in Piperton for the past two years.

Location
Piperton is located in the southwest corner of Fayette County Tennessee, just east of Collierville. It currently has a population of 2010 residents and is directly on the leading edge of the population growth corridor leading from Memphis to Germantown to Collierville, and now Piperton. No less than 8 nice new residential subdivisions are planned or have been developed over the past few years to accommodate the anticipated population growth.
Major Developments
Several major developments have occurred in and around Piperton over the past few years including:
- A 500-acre intermodal rail facility was opened just east of the city in 2012
- The final segment of Highway 385 from Poplar Avenue to Macon Road was completed in 2014
- A new segment of Interstate 269 from Piperton to Goodman Road in North Mississippi is scheduled to open in late 2015
Several light industrial properties of up to 7 acres are still available in the Piperton Business Park and on Willard Drive. Other sites of up to 90 acres are also available along Highway 72 and along Highway 385 and Keough Road.
